Upstaging Yul

The stories of Steve McQueen doing all he could to take the attention away from Yul Brynner are many.

Brynner was the big star of the Magnificent 7 and McQueen a relativly well known T.V.actor trying to break into films.  Next time you watch the movie notice how McQueen plays with his hat, shakes the shot gun cartridges, anything when he is in shot with the star to get attention

Brynner was shorter than McQueen so he would make up a pile of earth to stand on which McQueen would try to kick over.

Great film and great acting but I never saw McQueen as a supporting actor in it
